Editorial Policy

How we research and publish - and the rules that keep our recommendations independent.

Our process

Research-based articles draw on linked product information and clearly identify details that have not been independently verified. Where we have physically lived with a product for an extended period, that first-hand experience is added on top - and only then does the review carry a "Hands-on review" label. Any review without that label is research-based, and each one states that fact at the top of the page.

How we assess products

Research-based pages explain intended use, compatibility, ownership considerations, and unresolved questions. We do not publish numerical test scores without a documented testing basis. The current two assessments have not been tested in person.

Independence rules

  • Manufacturers cannot see, preview or influence a review before publication.
  • We do not accept payment for reviews, scores or placement.
  • When a cheaper product is the better recommendation, we recommend it - even when the premium option pays a higher commission.
  • Every "what we don't like" section is written before the commercial discussion, not after.

Corrections

We publish corrections openly. If a spec or price is wrong, we fix it and note the change on the page. Spotted an error? Tell us.

Pricing and availability

Prices shown are typical street prices at the time of publication and change frequently. Always check the current price before buying.
